Private Music Bath – Review

Recently, (July, 2015) I offered a Private Music Bath to someone from Stockton, California. Afterward, I received this “review” of the service in email form. It offers a first-hand impression of the session and experience.

A Music Bath. Why not? Many people use massage and spa treatments not just to relax the body, but to send wellness to the brain. Often, the desired end-result is to increase productivity and creativity.

Listen, children, the ears also send signals to the brain. What Celia Canty has made available to you is a unique experience. And, dare I say, a privilege?

Please allow me to share my own Music Bath experience.

Pre-music bath, we worked together to verify my astrological signs.  From those, Celia determined the specific tonalities that corresponded to me. Vibrations designed for my ears only. It gets better!

She double-checked that I had an intention for my life set firmly in my mind. The intention became the focal point during the experience.  How brilliant. Music that reinforces the vision.

I then made some choices, thus making this individualized experience even more personal. Inspired by my view of Mount Ashland, I chose a place to sit in her comfortable room. Celia told me I could change places, walk about, lie on the floor, or change my mind mid-stream. I enjoyed the freedom of making this experience all about me.

Celia uses three instruments to improvise, yes improvise, the music in my tonalities. She gave me a suggested order of instrumentation. I was feeling a different order to the progression, and she accommodated my request to reverse the order of instruments.

My music bath began with the ethereal sounds of the glass armonica. Although it is not common instrumentation in present day music, over one hundred composers have created pieces for it. Its resonance can only be created by the light touch of a human hand. Goosebumps.

Next, Celia moved to her concert grand harp.  She again improvised a melody with accompaniment using my personalized tonalities. The Lyon and Healy harp’s full, lush sound found resonance in every molecule of my being.

The conclusion was brought about by Celia’s lovely Steinway grand piano that oozed layered tones that rang in my soul.

The music ended. She waited for me to “return”. Then, Celia handed me a tincture bottle of water. There is so much more to this water than I can include here, plus Celia is much more knowledgeable about its properties. It was infused with my music bath tonalities. I now use it as part of my writing ritual, to help invoke the creative muse before I start writing.

Afterward, Celia sent an MP3. I listen, and it reinforces my vision. It also helps prompt me to write. I am still exploring the ways and means of application. I am eager to see if I can re-intend while listening.  At least Celia has made this available for me to do as inspiration leads.

Taking a Music Bath comes with my highest recommendation. I believe the creative and intuitive will find unparalleled benefit in this. ~June Ferne, July 2015~

  1. I have been fortunate enough to enjoy three music baths by Celia Canty. For the first two appointments, I came with the hope to break through some blockages on my path to become healing harpist, the third one was for a health issue. Every session has brought instant and lasting insights on my next step to reach my goals. Celia’s beautifully appointed home, her caring nature and genuine interest in my progress, opened the door for me to trust myself into her musical guidance and have faith in this rather unusual therapy.
Once Celia sat at her instruments, letting the music flow and do the work, my magic happened. In every session I was blessed with pictures and crystal clear messages on how to proceed on my life’s journey. Her music was truly inspirational; at times the volume, tempo and her choice of some familiar songs were surprising and yet they were perfectly placed on the artists’ canvas. Each therapy session closed with some reflections, a mere comparing of what we both felt during the process. It was amazing how similar our pictures and insights were.

Celia sent me on my way with the powerfully charged water and the recordings of my personalized music. The very detailed analysis of her musical improvisations, which followed a few days later, further confirmed her knowledge and experience as a highly trained musician.

For me, the magic of the moment and the blessings I received through her gift of music, was more than I could have ever wished for. I am so grateful.

    1. Thank you for this compliment of my “unusual” work. 🙂 I created this “therapy” after studying for many years the esoteric aspects of music, in particular, tonality. I am so grateful that we were able to tune in and bring you some sought-after answers.
